About me
Amanda L. Golbeck is a statistician, academic leader, historian, biographer, and communicator of science. She is known for her authored books, "Equivalence: Elizabeth L. Scott at Berkeley" (Chapman & Hall, 2017) and "Florence Nightingale David: A Passionate Probabilist, Statistician, Historian, and Leader" (Springer, 2025). She is also known for her edited books on leadership, "Leadership and Women in Statistics" (Chapman & Hall, 2015, with Ingram Olkin and Yulia Gel) and "Leadership in Statistics and Data Science: Planning for Inclusive Excellence" (Springer, 2021). These are the only biographies of women statisticians in the 20th Century and the only books on leadership in statistics. Dr. Golbeck is a recipient of the Elizabeth L. Scott Award given by the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies. She is chair of the International Statistical Institute Committee on Women in Statistics.
