About me
Helena Baptista is a highly experienced statistician, researcher, and educator, specializing in applied statistics, forecasting, and time series analysis. She has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, finance, and academia, with a strong background in statistical modeling, data analytics, and methodological research.
She holds a PhD in Statistics and Econometrics and has been actively involved in organizing and teaching courses in applied, basic, and advanced statistics, both in traditional and e-learning formats. As a Professor of Practice at NOVA IMS, she has led multiple courses on Time Series Analysis, Forecasting Methods, and Statistics for Enterprise Data Analytics, adapting content for virtual learning environments during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her main research topic is on Bayesian disease mapping models, which will be the topic of the session.
