About me
Beatriz Sinova Fernández is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics and Operational Research and Mathematics Didactics at the University of Oviedo. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Oviedo, a Master's degree in Mathematical Modelling, Statistics and Computing, and a joint PhD in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Oviedo and Ghent University (Belgium). Her research focuses on developing robust statistics techniques for imprecise-valued data, mainly interval- and fuzzy-valued data. Currently she leads the research group on "Statistical Methods with Imprecise Random Elements Comparison of Distributions of Random Elements" at the University of Oviedo. She has published more than 25 papers in JCR-indexed journals. Among the awards she has received are the Ramiro Melendreras Award from the SEIO and the Vicent Caselles Award from the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society and the BBVA Foundation.
