About me
Gabriela Bettella Cybis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, where she is also a faculty member of the Graduate Program in Statistics.
She holds a B.Sc. in Biology and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from UFRGS, and a Ph.D. in Biomathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Her research focuses on Bayesian inference and computational methods for genetics, evolution, phylodynamics, and viral epidemiology, as well as nonparametric methods for classification and clustering. She is currently supported by a joint Serrapilheira Institute and FAPERGS research grant on machine learning for phylodynamics and statistical methods for high-dimensional data.
