Dr. Jae Sook Cheong is a senior researcher and a data professional. Her works are in the area of data governance, knowledge representation with data analysis, algorithm analysis, and machine learning. With many years of experience across academia, industry, and national R&D institutes, her work bridges theoretical computer science and applied digital innovation. She has contributed to small and large-scale R&D projects in research data management, knowledge graphs and digital content technology. She also has supported interdisciplinary digital transformation initiatives in an international environment.
Her current research interests focus on representing knowledge structure using AI model and data modelling using ontology. Her interest also includes the societal implications of data and artificial intelligence. She earned her Ph.D. from Utrecht University and an M.Phil. from HKUST. They are both in theoretical computer science. She holds a B.A. in computer science from POSTECH.
