About me
I grew up in Costa Rica, in a family with strong academic roots. From an early age, I was drawn specially to mathematics and biology. In 2017, I began studying Microbiology and Clinical Chemistry at the University of Costa Rica. In 2018 I added Statistics as a second major, but during the pandemic, I decided to focus on Statistics and graduated in 2023 with a final project on dengue fever prediction using neural networks. I later worked as an instructor at the School of Statistics at UCR, teaching service courses during 2023 and 2024, mostly for health sciences students.
At the end of 2024, I joined a medical device manufacturing company, as a Data Scientist. My work focuses on material traceability using graph models, regression, machine learning and other tools to support manufacturing problem-solving.
I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Statistics, developing a thesis on dengue fever underreporting and statistical methods to better understand disease surveillance data.
