International Day Of Women in Statistics and Data Science

Kakon Datta is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Statistics at the University of Kentucky. She completed her master’s degree at Miami University, Ohio, USA in 2024. Her research interests include high-dimensional data analysis, variable selection, sufficient variable selection, and statistical learning methods. She is particularly interested in developing efficient methods for detecting important variables and interactions in complex datasets.

Alongside her research, Kakon serves as a graduate assistant and has experience teaching undergraduate statistics courses. She is passionate about applying modern statistical techniques to real-world problems and enjoys learning new methodologies in computational and theoretical statistics. Outside academics, she enjoys reading books and exploring new ideas across different fields.
