About me
Laurie Short is a third-year PhD student in the Department of STEM Education at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on college-level mathematics education, with a specific interest in the preparation of mathematics graduate teaching assistants. She has also researched discourse and social interaction in elementary mathematics, quantitative instruments for mathematics education, and spatial reasoning in upper-level math courses. Laurie serves as a research assistant for the Data Science and AI Academy, where she is studying the implementation of the All-Campus Data Science and AI Project-Based Teaching and Learning (ADAPT) model’s 10 common learning elements.
