International Day Of Women in Statistics and Data Science

Marília Antunes is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Since 2023, she is also the Scientific Coordinator of the Centre of Statistics and its Applications (CEAUL). She earned her PhD in Statistics and Operations Research in 2003 and since then has been mostly dedicated to Biostatistics, particularly its applications to Biology, Medicine, and Neuroscience, leading to active collaborations with researchers in these fields. She is actively involved in national and international research projects and currently serves as the local PI of projects such as CINDERELLA and ResPECT, where AI-driven methodologies are developed to support more personalized, efficient, and equitable healthcare. These projects reflect her enthusiasm and commitment to creating global scientific connections and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration across institutions and countries.
