About me
I hold a PhD in Statistics from the Universidade da Coruña (UDC), where my research focused on the development of mixed models with random slopes for Small Area Estimation. My work combines statistical methodology with applications to socioeconomic and public health challenges, including poverty analysis from a gender perspective and the prediction of healthcare resource demand.
My academic background spans Biology, Bioinformatics, and Statistics, reflecting an interdisciplinary interest in applying data science to real-world problems. Throughout my research, I have worked on developing statistical methods that support evidence-based decision-making and help uncover inequalities that are often hidden by aggregated data.
Alongside my research, I enjoy combining scientific work with university teaching and outreach activities to promote statistics and data science among new generations and to highlight their potential for addressing real-world societal challenges.
