Susana Vinga is Associate Professor at the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Bioengineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and researcher at INESC-ID (Life and Health Technologies). She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering (1999), a post-graduate degree in Probability and Statistics (2002), a PhD in Biology/Bioinformatics (2005), and a Habilitation in Computer Science and Engineering (2025). Her research bridges computer science, engineering and life sciences, focusing on systems and computational biology, dynamic modeling, control and optimization of biological networks, and machine learning/biostatistics for personalized medicine. She has led major funded projects, including the H2020 Twinning OLISSIPO and several national projects. She has over 100 ISI-indexed publications (h-index=26) and multiple distinctions, including the ULisboa/CGD Scientific Prize (2017, 2022) and UTL Young Researcher Award (2010).
