Dr. Swarnali Banerjee is an Associate Professor and Director of Data Science in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Loyola University Chicago. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Connecticut in 2014. Prior to joining Loyola University in 2016, she served as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Old Dominion University from 2014 to 2016. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Statistics from the University of Calcutta and her M.Stat. degree from the Indian Statistical Institute. Her research interests include sequential analysis, statistical methods for bioinformatics, the analysis of count data arising in ecology and the health sciences, and multistage methodologies for modern data applications.
