About me
Dr. Yogita Gharde is currently serving as Senior Scientist (Agricultural Statistics) at the
ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research (ICAR-DWR), Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. She
earned her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics from the ICAR–Indian Agricultural
Statistics Research Institute (ICAR-IASRI), New Delhi. Her doctoral research focused on
"Small Area Estimation for Spatially Correlated Data Using a Bayesian Approach."
With over 16 years of experience in applied agricultural statistics, Dr. Gharde has made
significant contributions to statistical modelling and its applications in agriculture. Her
research spans the modelling and prediction of the future distribution of alien invasive
weeds, modelling the establishment of Zygogramma bicolorata for the biological control of
Parthenium hysterophorus, assessment of yield and economic losses caused by weeds in
India, and the development and application of Bayesian methods and small area estimation
techniques.
