Chathurika Abeykoon is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at Rhodes College, Memphis, TN. Dr. Abeykoon received her Ph.D. in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics from the University of Mississippi in 2023. Her research lies at the intersection of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, focusing on the theoretical foundations of machine learning and deep learning. Recently, she has been exploring the polynomial representation of shallow neural networks, double descent behavior in neural networks for classification, and Generative Augmentation for class imbalance.
